There I Find Delight

Verses for Thought

These verses all serve to convict me that I need to do my best at everything that I do, no matter what it is. They also convict me that I cannot do my best apart from the study of God's Word. Most certainly, they comfort me to know the steadfast love and power of the Lord.

"We love because he first loved us." -John 4:19

"The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" -Psalm 118:6

"It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man." -Psalm 118:8

"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." -Psalm 118:1

"He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord." -Psalm 112:7

"But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yeilds its fruit in season and whose leaf does not whither. Whatever he does prospers." -Psalm 1:2-3

"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." -2Timothy 2:16

"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom." -Ecclesiastes 9:10

Yet Again!

Okay, well everyone made it through Frances with no more than a few felled trees (no property or bodily damage) but now here we go again with Ivan. And Ivan is aiming at my Bobcie's & Djodju again (grandmother & great grandmother & great grandfather). So, yet again I ask for your prayers.
As a side note, I'll be posting another full study again before Monday.
Thank You all!

1 Timothy 2:2 - 1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way.

Prayers Again

Okay, now my great aunt and her family are in the path of hurricane Frances. Only this time they HAVE been told to evacuate. The problem is they have no where to go. All the hotels are booked. So, they've boarded everything up and are planning to wait it out in their home along with their youngest son and his family. The good news is that the hurricane slowed down over the Bahamas this morning. The bad news is that it's expected to pick up speed again now that it's back on water. It could reach hurricane 5 force (the largest possible) and is currently said to be larger than the entire state of Florida in size. I think I'll refresh my memory on those verses and notes I used for my second posting "Attention Christians." Seems appropriate. :)
